Terms & Conditions

Orders placed with us are subject to acceptance of our terms and conditions so please read the following carefully before placing your order. When placing an order through this website, please note that  you are accepting that you have read and understood the terms and conditions laid out here.

We are always pleased to help with genuine customer enquiries about any of our products, so please contact us if there is anything you require additional help with.

Delivery is available throughout the UK via Royal Mail. Overseas customers should contact us to check availability prior to placing an order. Overseas orders may be subject to an additional delivery charge.

Please ensure that you give us accurate contact details in case of a query arising with your order. Gribblybugs LLP cannot be held responsible for failed delivery due to customer error.

The sale of some livestock is seasonal. Butterflies cannot be safely released into the wild in winter months. Therefore we will not despatch butterfly rearing kit orders out of season. Butterfly rearing kits are only available between late February and September (inclusive). However orders can be placed year round. In winter months please contact us to arrange a suitable delivery date in season. When in season butterfly rearing kits will be despatched Monday-Thursday. This means that they will be delivered Tuesday-Friday. Saturday delivery is available for an additional fee in some circumstances. Gribblybugs LLP will not despatch livestock for Saturday delivery unless you specifically request it, in which case you are liable for additional delivery costs and must be at home to receive your delivery. TEACHERS PLEASE NOTE butterfly rearing kits CANNOT be delivered to school on Saturday.

Otherwise we aim to despatch most orders within forty eight hours unless you contact us to arrange a specific delivery date. Once your order has left here, you will receive an automatic email informing you of their imminent arrival. It is the customers responsibility that ALL email addresses used are current and valid. If you do not receive your order within three days of receipt of the despatch notification, please first check the following before contacting us:

a) Have you been left a red "Sorry we missed you" card from Royal Mail? This should inform you where you parcel can be found.

b) Have you checked with your neighbours in case it has been left with them?

c) Have you had a look round outside first? Postmen often leave packages behind wheelie bins etc.

The vast majority of "missing" orders can be located by the above methods. If your order still cannot be located, please contact us immediately. If we do not hear from you within five working days of despatch notification, we will assume that you have received the items and no refunds for missing items will be given after this time.

Once caterpillars have been despatched you, the customer, are responsible for their safe collection and rearing. Please note that delivery of livestock may require your signature and you MUST be available to receive it. For items requiring a signature an email will be sent with tracking details and it is the customers responsibility to inform us immediately should any delay occur. Gribblybugs LLP cannot be held responsible for failed delivery due to customer error. Failure to receive a parcel at an appointed delivery time will be construed as willful mishandling of livestock. If additional delivery expenses are incurred by Gribblybugs LLP as a result of customer error, such costs will be payable by the customer before goods can be re sent.

Orders for butterfly releases will only be carried out in accordance with specific terms and conditions which are separate to the terms and conditions laid out on this page.

We try to meet our customers’ needs on an individual basis. As a result exact product details may vary from those pictured on the website. Images used are intended as a guide only. If in doubt please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

In addition to our secure online shop, orders may be placed by telephone or e-mail and customers will be invoiced accordingly. Orders will be processed and despatched either upon receipt of payment or at a pre-arranged specific despatch date.
